Engin Artemel, A.I.C.P.
Mr. Artemel, Chairman of Artemel & Associates and President of Artemel International, is an architect, civil engineer, and urban planner.  He has more than 30 years of professional experience in both the public and private sectors, as well as in academic circles.  His career encompasses public service, international consulting, teaching, and community activities.  He served 10 years as the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Alexandria, Virginia, and was Chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments Technical Advisory Committee.  Mr. Artemel was the president of the Northern Virginia Community Appearance Alliance, and was a member of Fairfax County’s Environmental Quality Advisory Board. He was recognized by the Urban Land Institute for the conceptual planning of the Pentagon City mixed-use project in Arlington County, Virginia. Mr. Artemel currently serves on Alexandria’s Waterfront Committee, and was recently appointed to the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority.  The founder of The Artemel Group, for the past 20 years he has consulted extensively on city planning and urban design, doing project feasibility studies, conceptual designs, project master planning and coordination, and development implementation.
