Artemel & Associates was retained by the Hotel Association of Alexandria, Virginia to document the economic impact of hotel guest spending on the local economy. The study resulted in the association agreeing to voluntarily adopt a $1 per night room tax, the revenues from which would be used to market the hotel sector.
