Hotels are increasingly diversifying from their “chain” images and standards. Boutique or niche hotels have gained favor and market share. As the number of brands and properties increases, the hotel market has gotten increasingly competitive. There is also a new emphasis toward customer service, even at the largest hotels. Room sizes have increased, as have amenities within the hotel to make sure the guest is not only comfortable but entertained and coddled. Hotels, too, are becoming increasingly “green” as guest begin demanding sustainable design. Understanding the evolving hotel products, markets, and design strategies is a key aspect of our services in site selection, planning, and design for new hotels.
