Museums, Arts and Cultural Facilities

"Soft" public faciliities such as cultural buildings can play an active role in revitalizing urban areas or catalyzing development in a new area.  Where once convention centers, and later stadiums, were considered anchor developments, now museums and performing arts centers are the new venues for encouraging urban redevelopment.  Artemel & Associates provides market and feasibility analyses to determine the optimum location for a cultural facility in attracting visitors and patrons, and achieving any other measures of success specified by the fundraising entities.  For these facilities we also provide business and operating plans, help substantiate their appeals for patrons and trustees, and analyze their potential to help create a new identity for the area in which they are located. For a number of proposed museums, we have carried out detailed market analysis to determine the potential number of visitors at start up and steady state, taking into account the museum’s proposed site, the competitive environment, and the existing demand patterns at nearby or comparable museums.

Our projects involving public facilities uses have included:

  • Cold War Museum
  • Marine Corps Heritage Museum
  • Museum of American Diplomacy
  • St. Mary's School
